“I
believe that what makes the psychedelic experience so central is that it
is a connection into a larger modality of organization on the planet,
which is a fancy way of saying
it connects you up to the mind of Nature Herself.”
- Terence McKenna
Psychedelic
psy•che•del•ic (sahy-ki-del-ik) - adjective/noun
A mental state characterized by a profound sense of
intensified sensory perception, sometimes accompanied by
severe perceptual distortion and hallucinations and by
extreme feelings of euphoria. Also of,
relating to, or referencing a variety of substances producing this
state, such as LSD25, mescaline, or psilocybin.
Resembling, characteristic of, or reproducing images,
sounds, or the like, experienced while in such a state:
psychedelic painting,
psychedelic music, psychedelic prose, etc.
Referencing a
psychedelic drug or a
person who uses such a substance.
Etymology:
The term "psychedelic" is derived from the Ancient Greek words psychē (ψυχή,
"soul") and dēloun (δηλοῦν, "to make visible, to reveal") ...translating to
"soul-revealing."
Psychedelia psy•che•del•ia (sahy-ki-del-yə) - noun
A modern (late 20th, early
21st century) subculture of those who have experienced psychedelic
realities, in the tradition of and as experienced and observed by preceding
entheogenic and shamanic cultures, world wide. Often associated with
modern psychoactive compounds such as LSD25 or MDMA.
The term is also used to describe a style of psychedelic artwork and
psychedelic music. Psychedelic art and music typically try to recreate or
reflect the experience of altered consciousness. Psychedelic art uses bright,
neon colors, highly
distorted and surreal visuals and full spectrum audio to evoke and convey to a viewer or listener
the artist's experience of psychedelic realities, or to enhance the
understanding of psychedelic experience. Psychedelic music uses distorted electric guitar,
Indian music elements such as the sitar, electronic effects, sound effects
and reverberation, and elaborate studio effects, such as playing tapes
backwards or panning the music from one side to another.
Psychedelic states may be
elicited by various techniques, such as trauma, sensory stimulation or
deprivation, meditation, athletics, and most notoriously, by the use of psychedelic substances. When
these psychoactive substances are used for religious, shamanic, or spiritual
purposes, they are termed entheogens.
Entheogen
en•the•o•gen (ĕn-thē′ō-jən) - noun
From
Greek, literally meaning
“generating the divine within,” is
any psychoactive substance, usually one derived from plants
or fungi but also from the secretions of animals such as
toads, that induces a spiritual experience and is
aimed at spiritual development. Traditionally ingested by a
shaman or another participant in a ritual in order to
produce visions or gain mystical insight. In the recent
past, commonly called
“hallucinogens,”
“psychedelics,”
“psychotomimetics,”
etc.

Tek-Gnostics Lexicon

“I am convinced that the
way forward for the human race is to recognize and protect the fundamental
right of sovereignty over consciousness, to throw off the chains of our
divisive religious heritage, to seek out forms of spirituality (or no
spirituality at all if we so prefer) that are truly supportive of liberty
and tolerance, to help the human spirit to grow rather than to wither, and
to nurture our innate capacity for love and mutual respect. The old ways are
broken and bankrupt and new ways are struggling to be born. Each one of us
with our own talents, and by our own choices, has a part to play in that
process.”

Graham Hancock

Explorations
into the nature of psychedelia, found within this archive, moves beyond
mere
“Pop”
connotations as outlined in mundane definitions, such as those above. Words
cannot do justice to this profound experience. The transmissions
herein focus
upon the sovereignty and exploration of consciousness and the
associated
revelatory epiphanies or flashes of insight, often described as psychedelic
in nature. Our mythology of psychedelia describes and defines it as a realm,
with its unique topography and governing laws of physics. We
utilize and extend the
pop metaphor of the vernacular:
“trip” to illustrate the navigational nature of this
most profound
experience...
For to venture into the
realm of psychedelia is to undertake an incredible journey into the
deepest dominion of the mind.
We recognize decades-past
portrayals of the psychedelic experience to be sensationalized tabloid
trope, published by media platforms of past eras... if not outright
propaganda, driven by the dominator culture's media machine (that we have
identified as
Babylon Bandwidth). Such rhetoric of the past was used to sell
copy at best, and to promote a fear-mongering,
thought
control, dis-informational, party-line position of psychedelia, at
worst.
We seek instead to
illuminate the awe-inspiring ramifications of the psychedelic experience and
document the unbroken thread of psychedelic knowledge that reaches back to
the very foundation of human culture. Through
this site and our associated
social media platforms, we seek to chronicle the psychedelic renaissance
currently taking place within academia, pop culture and through the mass
migration of shamanic culture from South to North America, a phenomena we
deem to be a "Psychedelic Diaspora."
We subscribe to the
hypothesis that entheogenic substances, or plant teachers as they are often
described by shamanic traditions, have played a crucial role in the
evolution of domesticated primate consciousness. In this
regard, we
subscribe to the body of work published by the brothers McKenna, as an
honest chronicle of the explorations of a vast psychedelic territory,
previously explored by few intrepid Western adventurers. The McKenna
brothers approached these expeditions from a comprehensive, experiential
perspective, while adhering to scientific rigor as best as they could, given
the conditions on the ground.

Disclaimer:
and this is important... we believe this information to be eminently
integral to the human experience. However, we do not advocate the use of
psychedelic compounds, simply because we do not dare presume. Such a
consequential decision may only be made by each sovereign individual. Great
care must be taken in regard to mental and physical health, legality,
intention and maturity. Accordingly, we refrain from any such advocacy. In
the words of the great American sage, Ram Dass: "One must first learn to
become someone, before they choose to become no one."

“The
collective
unconscious, the same as other transpersonal phenomena, is evidence that our
mind is not an isolated entity but is constantly in touch with other minds
as well as with the world around us. We are never entirely detached from the
outside world; never entirely enclosed within our skin. Our mind and our
body resonate with our environment, including other people in our
environment. Our mind is coherent with the world,
and when we do not repress
the intuitions that link us with other people and with nature,
we can become
aware of our oneness with the universe.”
“These days, when I
knock on the doors of the
Tryptamine Palace, I am no longer greeted with
unconditional love, but instead, I am reminded of the responsibility that
comes with ultimate knowledge: an undeniable responsibility to myself, to my
tribe, to my species, to my planet.”
